He initially struggled with poor grades in school and decided to attend a military academy. After graduating, he began working alongside his father in real estate. At just 29 years old, he purchased the Commodore Hotel and transformed it into a luxurious establishment, selling 50% of his shares for $100 million to another hotel chain.
In 1988, Trump made headlines by acquiring The Plaza Hotel for a record $420 million, solidifying his status among the most prominent businessmen of the time. Two years later, he expanded his wealth to over $3 billion by opening a casino near New Jersey. During this period, he also ventured into establishing his own airline, investing $350 million. Trump gained worldwide recognition for his business ventures and announced his candidacy for the 2016 United States presidential election. On June 8, 2016, he was elected as the 45th President of the United States, succeeding Barack Obama.
