Milla Jovovich was born on December 17, 1975, in Kiev, which was part of the Soviet Union at the time. Her father, a doctor, and her mother, an actress, moved to England a few years after Milla was born. She spent her childhood in London, and after her father was imprisoned, her parents separated. Her mother gained custody and moved to Los Angeles with Milla. With her mother’s help, she appeared on the cover of a magazine at the age of nine.
In 1987, she began working for the fashion magazine “Vogue” and appeared on the covers of many brands at a very young age. In 1988, she signed with the globally recognized cosmetics brand L’Oreal and became the new face of the company. That same year, she appeared in the film “Two Moon Junction,” produced by Zalman King, playing the character Samantha, marking her film debut. In 1997, she starred in the movie “The Fifth Element” alongside famous actors such as Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, and Chris Tucker. One of the highest-paid models in the world, Milla Jovovich married British director Paul Anderson in 2009.
