Kim Jong-un was born on January 8, 1984, in Wonsan, North Korea. He is a North Korean politician and the country’s supreme leader. Kim is the grandson of Kim Il-sung, the founder and first leader of North Korea. He is also the second child of Kim Jong-il, the country’s second leader from 1994 to 2011. Since 2011, Kim Jong-un has been the leader of North Korea and assumed the role of Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea in 2012. He is both the youngest leader of North Korea and the country’s first leader born in the north.
Kim Jong-un’s leadership has brought significant changes to the country’s domestic and foreign policies. In 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Marshal in the Korean People’s Army and consolidated his position. On June 12, 2018, Kim Jong-un held a historic summit with U.S. President Donald Trump in Singapore, but no agreement was reached in subsequent meetings. Kim has also played an active role in international relations, having held a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2019.
Kim Jong-un lives with his wife, Ri Sol-ju, whom he married in 2009. His physical features include black hair and brown eyes. Kim’s weight is approximately 103 kilograms, and his height is 1.70 meters. His leadership and role in foreign relations have increased North Korea’s attention on the international stage.
